Fedja Orphanage

Construction crews are just returning home from a trip to Fedja where they made significant progress on the All Of God's Children orphanage in Fedja, Haiti. They made amazing progress and are very close to the final work necessary for the orphans to move into their new home.

The interior wall finish has been complete, significant progress was made on the electrical and plumbing, the tiled counters and shower stalls were installed and the doors have all been installed. This was much more than the team had expected to accomplish in the time they had.

Before the children can be moved in, another trip will be necessary to finish the tile, install plumbing fixtures, finish the plastering of the ceiling and complete the interior painting. We are hoping to find sponsors willing to help us complete this work.

The Five Oaks Parternship

Five Oaks Community Church (FOCC) has been feeding the orphans and supporting the staff of
All Of God's Children Orphanage in Fedja since December of 2004. A Vision Team was sent to Haiti in January of 2005 to explore the possibility of helping GVCM in their compassion efforts in Fedja.

In February of 2005, FOCC and GVCM forged a partnership with the United Nations. The UN has contributed engineering, equipment, fuel, and the Ecuadorian and Chilean Corp of Engineers to build a new road to the site and provide grading for the campus.

FOCC recently committed $110,000 to build a facility to replace the sheep barn structure currently housing the orphans. This new facility will eventually be home to 350 orphans and support staff, as well as their school and church.

In addition to this new facility, the people of FOCC have provided clothing and Christmas offerings to feed the Fedja children and pay the staff salaries through the end of 2006.
